Our Service

The library of the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Biology is a specialized scientific library offering services mainly to research staff and visiting scientists, providing electronic media, literature and information services.

The collection is focused on the fields of research covered by the departments and the research groups at the institute.

This media and information supply is developed according to the research profile of the institute. Visitors from outside may use the library during opening hours.

Lending outside the institute is normally not permitted.

The library provides the following access to:

- a collection of over 12.000 books
- a collection of over 2000 journals (Archive)
- more than 30.000 electronic journals (here!) and numerous databases

Needed scientific literature will be immediately obtained by us through a Document Delivery Services, Interlibrary loan or by purchase if they are not available in the library.
