Main Focus

I am mostly interested in interspecies variation during embryonic development, what are the signals and molecules that make us unique at the same time that are shared by hundreds of different species.

Curriculum Vitae

I am originally from Sevilla, Spain, where I started my journey in Science. I did my Bachelor in Basic and Experimental Biomedicine but later found my passion in the field of Evo-Devo. After spending some time in the UK learning and developing my skills in different laboratories, I moved back to Spain, where I did my Master in Biomolecules and Cell Dynamics. Thanks to the different projects I took part in I was able to develop an interdisciplinary point of view and a broad range of skills together with an immense personal growth. I did my PhD as part of the IMPRS program in the Evolutionary Developmental Dynamics group studying how the emergence of new genes affects the evolution of new structures. When I am not in the lab, I like to spend my time having coffee and cake with my friends, reading and going for walks in the nature.
