My research focuses on the factors influencing an individual’s genomic lottery. Contrary to real lottery, genetic contents are not shuffled randomly across an individuals’ genome but are physically exchanged between homologous chromosomes through highly controlled processes during Meiosis. This exchange occurs only in the germ cell line and will result in unique gametes that lay the genetic basis of an individuals’ offspring. My main aim is to take a closer look at meiotic recombination landscapes and their impact on genomic architecture.
