3 year PhD position: We are currently looking for a highly motivated PhD student to join our team, to explore the evolutionary fate of emergent tRNA genes in bacteria. The project will involve genetic engineering, experimental evolution, phenotypic assays and tRNA-seq. The ideal candidate would have an MSc in molecular biology, microbiology, or related field, plus some experience of scripting in R. Some background in mathematics would also be useful; we are part of the Department of Evolutionary Theory, and there are opportunities for collaboration with theorists. To apply, please send an application letter, CV, and contact details of two referees to firstname.lastname@example.org by 1st March 2020. Further information can also be requested at this address.
We are always interested in hearing from people who would like to join our research team. Please contact Jenna Gallie via email for informal enquiries.
