Travel

The nearest airport is Hamburg: http://www.hamburg-airport.de. 

After arrival, when you exit the automatic doors after baggage collection and customs, there is a meeting area and a coffee shop. Turn to the left (whether you are in Terminal 1 or Terminal 2) and look for a sign with an S symbol, indicating the S-bahn, the suburban light-railway. Follow the signs downstairs to the station and buy a one-way ticket from the machine to Plön (via Lübeck). There is also the possibility to go by bus (bus stop is in front of the airport building) via Kiel and change to the train there, sometimes this is faster. In Plön, the institute is a 10-minutes-walk from the railway station.

Accommodation

Regular workshop participants: We kindly ask you to book your own accommodation. There are a few hotels in Plön, but they tend to be small and have limited opening hours, so please take this into account when planning your arrival. Another option is vacation rentals.
