Two subspecies of the house mouse

The Eastern House Mouse (Mus musculus musculus) and the Asian House Mouse (Mus musculus castaneus)

The Eastern and Asian house mouse differ genetically from the Western house mouse because they have adapted to their environments in other climatic regions.
The Eastern house mouse has lived near humans for about 8000 years and the Asian house mouse has only adapted to human habitats for about 3800-7000 years.
