I was born in Brazil, where I received my Bsc. in Biology from the Regional University of Blumenau and then my Msc. in Genetics and Evolution from the University of São Paulo. After that, I spent two years playing online poker full time. In the second semester of 2015 I joined the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Biology as an intern, working under the supervision of Dr. Julien Dutheil. We investigated the evolutionary aspects of Stochastic Gene Expression inside the mouse genome. As of 2016, I started my PhD on Population Genomics, where I will develop a model to account for spatial heterogeneity of parameters in the coalescent process. In my free time, I enjoy watching sports as well as playing Football, Chess, Poker and MtG.
