Lab mice


People have been breeding mice for more than 100 years, first as pets and later for medical research. These so-called laboratory mice are bred according to various criteria to obtain mice with defined characteristics (strains). However, the genetic information of the laboratory mice still contains genes from the various wild house mouse species.
